Dam Maintenance

IMG_3622Dam Maintenance is a very wide field due largely to the fact that  dam can vary greatly in size and structure.  From earthen to hydroelectric, dams perform a variety of functions including making electrical power, flood control measures, drinking water storage and so on.  Underwater structures on dams that need regular service inspections and maintenance can be trash rack structures, intake tunnels, slide gates, hydraulic lines to the slide gates, rock traps in the pipelines, stop logs, turbines and intake towers, just to name a few.  Many of the dams throughout the country are reaching a critical age and many are being retrofitted to update and ensure they are in safe working order.
